AboutUs

The British Business Group in Delhi was founded in 1997 to promote the Indo-British commercial relationship among companies here in the National Capital Region. It is a forum for business people to meet, exchange experiences and listen to informative and influential speakers. Its membership comprises many of the major British companies present in the NCR, as well as major Indian companies with significant interests in the UK. Individual British business executives and smaller start-ups are also members (for application form and Membership criteria please see attached).

The BBG holds regular meetings featuring high profile speakers such as Ministers, senior business and media personalities and visitors from the UK. Recent events have included a talk by Jyotiraditya Scindia, an election panel of eminent journalists, an address by the successful entrepreneur and author Subroto Bagchi of MindTree, a meeting with the Chief Minister of Delhi and another with Lord Mervyn Davies, the British Trade Minister.

We also hold knowledge events with partners such as AmCham and the European Business Group. We have taken part in joint seminars run by KPMG on corporate governance and transfer pricing, by E&Y on the direct tax code, a presentation on Indian Provident Fund Scheme for Expat Workers on with PWC and a full day workshop on CSR facilitated by Stephen Farrell of Business in the Community.

These events are usually followed by cocktail receptions hosted in some of the finest hotels in Delhi and Gurgaon.
